In the short time that I came to know Ms. Melba, I loved her. Firstly, she didn't remember my name so she referred to me as "the pretty lady." Wow! She stamped me with that label and I love her for it. I was Sandy's Realtor that helped her find her new home to start a new chapter in her life.

Sandra was a loving daughter and she always put her mother FIRST. When looking at homes, she made sure there was a window wall where her mother could sit and enjoy backyard views, wanted an outside patio for her mother to sit outside and enjoy the flowers, the doorways had to be wide enough for her mother to enter with her walker, and there had to be a shower for her mother. We looked at many homes and she never settled until she found the right one, and with her mother's approval, of course. Melba liked the home and was ancious to move in. I learned she loved flowers and chocolate so occasionally I would drop flowers and/or candy off to her with a short visit.

She would make me laugh because when Sandy would start talking away and Melba didn't understand what she was talking about, she would look at me, grin and roll her eyes. LOL! I wish I had known her sooner and in the early years. However, I am most grateful that God introduced us and gave me that time to enjoy her sense of humor and learn her power. I don't believe there was anything she couldn't do in the early years. I learned from Sandy that it was her and her mother since she was about 13 yrs old while Melba worked full-time. Sandy stayed by her mothers side till her death early in July 2017. Ms. Melba, I love you and will miss you. Sandy, I love you too. You have your mother's strength and perserverance, definitely "a survivor" and I admire you for that. Love and Kisses from Jean, "The Pretty Lady"!!

Ms. Melba will be truly missed. She always was truthful and a straight shooter when you asked her for advice. I will always have the utmost respect for her. She was a fun mother who would sit down and play cards and help Sandy through the best and worst of times. This disease really took a toll on her mind and body. Sandy never gave up on her and always was there for her no matter what. You are a saint, Sandy. An awesome, caring, wonderful daughter and one of the best people I've ever known. I will always cherish our friendship. Love u, sister.
