Daniel R. Haggerty, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the age of 41. Beloved husband of 16 years to Melanie Albaral Haggerty. Devoted father of Drew and Brandon Haggerty. Loving son of Daniel R. Haggerty, Sr. and Deborah B. Haggerty. Son-in-law of Larry and Gail Albaral. Brother-in-law of Jeff Albaral (Marie) and Kevin Albaral (Evangeline). Grandson of Stanley P. Brunet, Sr. and the late Bernice Brunet, Gloria Brunet, Raymond L Haggerty, Jr., and Bessie P. Haggerty. Godson of Patti H. Jung. Nephew of Nicholas Tranchina, and the late Stanley P. Brunet, Jr. and Timothy L. Brunet. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Jr., Katie, Evie, and Kade, many cousins, and friends.
Danny was a resident of Metairie, LA and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. He attended Lake Castle Elementary School and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. After high school, he attended USL where he is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated with a Master’s in civil engineering from UNO. He was a civil engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers and was an active member of the St. Catherine Men’s Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd. in Metairie, LA on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will be at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to a charity of your choice.
