Joseph Michael Livaudais, passed away on July 7, 2017 at the age of 77. Son of the late Sybil Matherne Bibb and the late Paul Enoul DeLivaudais. He is survived by his three children, Jodie Livaudais Doucet (Cary), Jill Livaudais Loupe (Dwain) and Joseph “Whoppa” Livaudais (Tina), and his three grandchildren Justin, Brooke, and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Paul Livaudais and Douglas Richard. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He served in the Navy during the Cold War with an Honorable Discharge in 1961,. He joined the New Orleans Police Department for five years, and then joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Detective Bureau, for ten years where he received the rank of Sergeant. He was assigned to the Flight Division and Criminal Investigation Division as Commander of Burglary. He then joined the Gretna Police Department, Detective Bureau, where he received the rank of Lieutenant. Two years later he returned to J.P.S.O. completing his career as detective sergeant. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Service on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA.
