Joseph Charles Branford, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on October 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving children. Joe was born on May 10, 1931 to Eugene and Elizabeth Branford in New Orleans. He was raised in Harahan, Louisiana. He met his late wife, Lily on a blind bowling date. After marrying they raised their family in Luling, Louisiana. Joe and his late wife, Lily were married for 61 years. He was a very dedicated and active church member. He was a veteran and served in the Air Force. Retired from American Cyanamid where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus .He was an avid gardener, he loved taking pictures and developing them himself, meeting with his weekly prayer group, Holy Family Monday Night Disciples and prayer retreats with long time friends.
He is survived by daughter Melinda Anderson and husband David , daughter Glenda Branford, son Terry Branford, son Kevin Branford and wife Shannon. He was called “Pawpaw” by his grandchildren, Christian Anderson, Garry Anderson and wife Sara, James Anderson, Ira Zeringue, Lisa Mullen and husband Jody, Dawn Delatte and husband Joel, Duane Lambert, Sara Lambert, Victoria Lambert, Christopher Hoffmann, Britni Myers, and husband Stephen, Terry Branford Jr., Tyler Branford, Samantha Branford and Ronnie Bergeron. Great grandchildren Kaylie Anderson, Emilie Anderson, Kaleb Anderson, Paisley Mullen, Lillie Mullen, Orion Mullen, Kyle Hoffmann, Seth Myers, Reece Myers and Cambry Branford.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA and visitation will begin at 12:00 pm until service time. Entombment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery in Destrehan, LA.
