James Nolan Houston, Sr. (affectionately known as Butch or Jim) passed away at his home on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Marilyn Hux Houston for 35 years. Loving father of W. Todd Robertson (Liz), Kim Robertson, James Houston, Jr (Nancy) and Michael Houston (Alison). Devoted grandfather of Tyler James Houston, Reyna Houston, Joe Houston and Katelyn Bares. And great-grandfather of Aubrey Bares. Son of the late P. Nolan Houston and Ann Houston. Brother of Patricia Hollbrook and Becky Butler. Jim retired after 20 years from BellSouth and then worked for Siemens Telecom. He was the past Master of Level Lodge no. 373 and was a member of the Encircler Chapter of the O.E.S. He will be fondly remembered as the master of electronics and robo toys.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
