So sorry to hear about Ms.Dottye. I grew up eating at Charlie's and having her wait on my family. We were there almost every Friday or Saturday night. She was a hoot, you had to love her. My husband had never eaten at Charlie's so I took him one Saturday night. I was so surprised to see Ms Dottye still working there. Whenever I think of Charlie's I remember fondly Ms Dottye. My prayers for her family.

One of my favorite must do's whenever in New Orleans was go to Charlies to see Ms. Dottye. She was an absolute hoot to visit with, always so friendly and welcoming. Once when I lamented about having to wait a year for their onion rings, I asked her how they are made, and she snapped right back and said "I don't know how they make e'm" and told me follow her into the kitchen where she introduced me to the cook who showed me how. Ms. Dottye is forever etched in my memories, every year when I travel to New Orleans, a visit to Charlies is a mandatory stop, where Matt always updated me on how Ms. Dottye was getting along. My deepest condolences to all of you in her family for your loss.

Bryan and family
Many years have passed since my late wife Katherine and I met you and your mother but we never forgot the wonderful times and steaks we had at Charlie's. Dottye was one of those people who brought a ray of sunlight into one's life when ever we met, which was always at the top of those stairs leading to the dinning room. My best wishes to you Bryan and may Dottye's memory be eternal.

Bryan may you and your family always feel the love in your heart that your mom shared with so many! The Currier family has such incredible memories of times spent at the restaurant with your mom always there, always smiling, always knowing exactly what each of us would order. She will always be a treasured gem! I truly loved your mom. Thank you for sharing her love with us. May you find peace in knowing that she will always look over you from a very special place.

My deepest condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of working with Dottye, years ago, at St. Charles General Hospital. I would always frequent Charlie's Steakhouse, because of her. She had a beautiful spirit with a lot of spunk! She will be missed!
