David Henry D’Antoni, 62, of Harahan, Louisiana died on Saturday, June 10, 2017 after a six-year struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of six years, Marilyn Piglia D’Antoni. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 13, 1955, David was the son of the late Gloria Boudreaux D’Antoni and Gaitan “Guy” D’Antoni, both of New Orleans. David was raised in New Orleans, graduated from Kennedy High School and Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Applied Science, and worked as a computer programmer.
He loved his family and spending time with them. David enjoyed playing guitar with the church choir at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church for 39 years. He enjoyed bicycling, walking, reading and studying American history.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Donald D'Antoni. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his sister, Gloria Tobey (Scott); his brothers, Gaitan D’Antoni and Michael D’Antoni (Jeanne); his uncle, Joe D'Antoni (Miriam); his sisters-in-law: Karen D'Antoni, Maria Fernandez D'Antoni, Mary Catherine Reiser (Rich), Jackie Schroeder (Mark), and Joel Elam (Ed); his brothers-in-law, Tommy Piglia (Theresa) and Larry Piglia (Sally); and his parents-in-law, Tom and Mary Jo Ann Piglia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Rebecca, Matthew, Melinda, Christina, Josh, Emma, John, Marianne, Alexis, Ashley, Sawyer, Penelope, Jared, Scott, Amanda, Tommy, Richard, Zoe, Katie, and Olivia.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1908 Short St. in Kenner, Louisiana. Mass will be preceded by the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie, Louisiana.
