Cathleen Marie Scott, age 59, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at her home. She was one of four children born in Rockford, Illinois but made her home in Metairie, LA. She is survived by her husband, John, two children and daughter-in-law; Courtney Scott, and Jordan and Elizabeth Scott, 1 grandchild, Archer Scott. Also survived by her three siblings; John W. Cassell, Dwight (Litz) Cassell, and Carrie (Jeremy) Tracy. Her nephews; Carl Cassell and Billy Tracy, and neices Maria (Jeffrey) Fulmer, Carla (Christian) Figueroa, and Kyra Tracy. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Evelyn Cassell.

Cathy was a high-spirited woman who loved people and was friendly to everyone around her. She grew up going to church with her family and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing volleyball and field hockey; as well as listening and playing music. She graduated at Jefferson High School in 1976 and was involved in the music department.  Cathy moved to Murray, Kentucky to attend college at Murray State University majoring in Pre-Elementary Education and English. In college, she met her husband John and were wed in 1983. Shortly after marrying, they moved to a few different places from San Francisco, CA to Corpus Christi, TX eventually moving to Metairie, LA, where they made their home. Cathy become a stay at home mom and always did what she could for her children to show them her love and care for them. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.
