Sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved one. Death is always difficult. Please draw comfort from the words found at 1 Corinthians 15:26 which says: And the last enemy death, is to be brought to nothing." And Hosea 13:14 says: From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them. Where are your stings, O Death? What wonderful promises from a God who cannot lie.

It saddens me, when one of our Veterans at The Southeast Louisiana Veterans, home passes away. It is the only thing that I don't like at The Home. I consider all of the Veterans of the home,as my second family. Volunteering at The Veterans Home is my passion! Every once in a while, I meet a Veteran at The Home that really makes a lasting impression. Bill, was a Veteran that made such an impression! I would sit with him and listen to his stories of his military involvement with enthusiasm ! He was very proud of his service to our Country! We would buy each other soft drinks and really enjoy each others company! I really looked up to him! He was one of the best dressed Veterans at The Home! I really will miss him! No words can describe my feelings. I really enjoyed when his family visited him. I love to meet our Veterans family members! Good Bye, my friend! Remember the fact, that we are only dancing on this Earth for a short while

Mr. Bill Ryan was a "fixture" at Munholland United Methodist Church on Metairie Road for as long as I can remember .... only until his recent decline in health... and his transition to the Veterans Home... He returned on many occasions and remembered everyone he encountered with a hug and a kiss!!!... He was one of our "last" charter members of the church and will surely be missed. May he rest in peace! Sarah and Keith Kreutziger, along with many others, cared deeply for him while he remained in his home so that he could attend church... He will be cherished and remembered by many... with love!!

We are sorry that Keith and I will not be able to attend Bill's service since he was a dear, dear part of our lives for so many of the 80 years he was a member at Munholland UMC, where he was our last living Charter Member. Bill had joined with his mother when he was ten years old in 1936. He had been active in several areas of church life, but is best remembered for his warm greeting to so many as an usher. He was also proud of his service in the Pacific even though he entered WWII when it was almost over. Bill was a gracious friend who spend many holidays with us after he moved to the WWII home. after his health began to decline. We will miss his smile and optimistic outlook on life as well as his kindness and love for our grandchildren who loved him in return. May he rest in peace.
