Walter Arthur Mattingly

Walter Arthur Mattingly went to his final resting place on August 23, 2021. Walter was born on May 23rd, 1932 in New Orleans, LA. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. He retired from a long career at Entergy, formerly NOPSI, in New Orleans, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Mattingly; his loving sons, Keith Mattingly (Pam), Dale Mattingly and his loving daughter Eileen Mattingly Thompson (Brian); his granddaughters Devin Philbeck (Brandon), Mikelle Waterman (Michael Smith) grandsons: Grey Thompson, Brock Thompson and Zaccary Waterman. Great grandchildren, Jase, Catalina, and Harley, also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children.
He is preceded I death by his father, James Earl Mattingly; his loving mother, Vesta Marie Mattingly Schoest; his stepfather, Tanni Schoest; his sister, Margaret Mattingly Anderson, brother-in-law, Edward Anderson, his brother, James Earl Mattingly, Jr. and his loving infant son, Steven Mattingly.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. 70001 on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a service at 2:00 PM, interment following immediately after. Due to state mandate, a face mask is required inside funeral home.
