Victor James Farrugia

Victor James Farrugia went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Odessa Thompson Farrugia; a son, Bari Peter Farrugia; his parents, Peter Farrugia and Frances Wastilla Farrugia; three brothers,Thomas Farrugia, Leo Farrugia and Joseph Farrugia as well as his twin sister, Mary Farrugia Swiderski. He is survived by and will be especially missed by his children, Victor Roma Farrugia (Catherine), Charlotte Farrugia Arnett and Marcus Emmanuel Farrugia (Gina). He will also be missed by his nine cherished grandchildren: Charlotte, Victor, Anna, Bailey, Alexis, Marcus, Michael, Isabella and Joseph; a great-grandchild, Warren and many nieces and nephews. Victor was born in New Orleans and worked with the local painters union and was also an artist and sign painter. After retiring, he continued to pursue his interest in the real estate business which he did for many years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 17, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA 70001. On Friday morning, May 18, 2018, visitation will be held at St. Agnes Church, 3310 Jefferson Hwy. in Jefferson, LA 70121 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
