Versie Lanclos Lalonde passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the age of 93.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Lalonde Dours (Norbert), Donald Lalonde (Carol), Sharon Lalonde Sagastume (Sergio), and David Lalonde (Deanna); grandchildren, Brandon Generes, Christen Lalonde Thomas, Ashley Generes Smith, Aaron Lalonde, Karla Sagastume Copping, Nicole Sagastume Villemartte; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister, Norma Lanclo Lalonde; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonce and Adeline Stelley Lanclos; her beloved husband of 52 years, Raoul D. Lalonde; and her siblings, Eula Mae Lanclos Hebert, Harry Lanclos, Edmond Lanclos, and Joyce Lanclos Soileau.
Versie was a devout Catholic throughout her life, and a faithful parishioner of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, where she could be heard singing with the choir. She was a longtime resident of Westgate subdivision in Metairie, La, as well as an aspiring painter. Versie was a full-time mother, and her family never lacked for love.
The family would like to thank the staff of Covenant Home for their loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, La, 70001. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 2:00 p.m. until 2:40 p.m. when a rosary will be said. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
