Valerie Acosta Whitlock

Valerie Acosta Whitlock passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the age of 60. Beloved wife of Lawrence “Billy” Whitlock III for 29 years. Loving mother of the late Jessica Whitlock, Lawrence William Whitlock IV, and Elizabeth Whitlock and the devoted mother to her bonus children: Janel, Jeremy, Jason Sr., Travis, Johnathan (Jessica), Eric (Chole), Jennifer W. (Jason), Nathanial (Heather), and Robert (Arizona). Grandmother of Bradley, Vivian, Nathan, Jason Jr., Ashton, Jordan, Miranda, Jennifer, Lillian, Holly, Magnolia, Madeline, Archer, Ila, Robert III, Andru, and Keith. Also survived by many other family members: Michael Sr., Debbie, Brittany, Kelly, Tammy, Octavia, Roy III, Jennifer A., Dereck, Michael, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Ashton, and many others. 

Valerie worked at Western Sizzler Restaurant, was a manager at Time Saver, and was a substitute teacher at Live Oak and Charbonnet. She enjoyed volunteering her time as a camp chaperone at United Houma Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Program and a member of Krewe of Isis. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Visitation starts at 12:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm. Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 150 and masks are mandatory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Eye Bank at www.southern eye bank.org or to The Heart Foundation at www.theheartfoundation.org.
