Troy Michael Chategnier

On August 25, 2021 Troy Chategnier was called home to his Heavenly Father after 42 years of beautiful memories. He was the youngest child of Betty and Donald Chategnier and loving father to his son, Landon Chategnier. He loved being a member of Divine Mercy Men’s Club, coach for KPRD playground and an instant friend to anyone he met.

He was a lifelong resident of Kenner, LA. He graduated from Rummel High School in 1997. He attended Southeastern University and was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He worked as a computer draftsman for over 20 years in the oil, gas and engineering industry.

Troy would tell you that his greatest accomplishment was being Landon’s dad. Troy’s personality was dry but infectious. He was so easy going and took everything that came to him in stride. When faced with any obstacles or hardships; he always handled them with such grace. He loved music, comedy and just making people laugh and feel at home. He loved playing golf and coaching any team that his son played on. His approach with the kids was always loving, compassionate and patient. He loved animals and particularly enjoyed sharing the sofa with his bulldog niece, Mabel. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Troy is survived by his son Landon Chategnier; parents’ Donald and Betty Chategnier; his brother David Chategnier; sister in law Robyn Chategnier; his sister Melissa Dublan; his nieces Grace Chategnier and Kathryn Chategnier and his nephews Gavin Dublan, Joel Chategnier, Nathan Fruchtnicht; and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and godchildren.

Rest in peace faithful servant. We know you will be watching over Landon from Heaven.

Visitation will be conducted on Friday September 17, 2021 at St. Clement Rome Church located at 4317 Richland Ave. Metairie, LA 70002 from 10am-12pm with a Mass following. Burial services will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery located at 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70001.
