Timothy George Alexander peacefully met his Creator on January 18, 2019 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 65.
Tim is survived by his loving wife and friend of 38 years, Pamela Smart Alexander; two children, Emily Alexander and Timothy Alexander (Caroline) and dog Molly; mother, Violet George Alexander; siblings, Kathy Clark (Jerry), Dawn Alexander (Michael), and Kevin (Denise); in-laws, Patricia Smart, Peggy Marin (Bob), and Glen Smart; nieces and nephews, Jerry Clark Jr. (Holly), Jefferey Marin (Meghan), Alexandra Lizarraga (Derek), and Julie Marin. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard John Alexander and brother, Richard John Alexander, Jr.
Tim was born on August 21, 1953 in New Orleans, LA to Violet and Richard Alexander and resided in Kenner, LA. He graduated from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, LA in 1971 and then Louisiana Technical College in 1976 with a degree in Mathematics. In Tim’s career, he was a professional photographer, public school teacher for Jefferson Parish, and a volunteer for Lutheran Disaster Relief following Hurricane Katrina. His sports photography included work with the New Orleans Jazz, New Orleans Saints, and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Tim was also a beloved husband, a loving father, son, brother, and friend.
A service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Atonement Lutheran Church, 6500 Riverside Dr, Metairie, with visiting and a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Amyloidosis Foundation at www.amyloidosis.org.
