On Friday, January 18, 2019, heaven gained a special angel. Thomas Michael Driscoll was born on January 14, 1963. He attended St. Rita School in Harahan and graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1981. He was employed with the Associated Press for almost 22 years.
Tommy was the beloved husband of his wife of 35 years, Dawn Englade Driscoll; from the time they first met in 1980, Tommy and Dawn have been inseparable. He also leaves behind his three children, Cory (Lindsey), Caitlyn, and Collyn; his granddaughter, Sophia; his mother, Gloria Heim Driscoll; his brothers, Wayne (Julie) and Bryan (Kim); his sister, Cheryl Dubuc (Bobby); his mother-in-law, Marie Englade; his brothers-in-law Darren (Tammy) and Ryan (Stephanie); his sister-in-law, Shawn; and many furbabies. He was welcomed into heaven by his late father, Thomas Driscoll. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
Tommy was a selfless and loyal soul whose contagious smile and outgoing personality could light up a room and make any stranger a friend. He was a devoted Saints fan and loved the outdoors. He was a life-long fisherman who loved sharing his passion with others. His greatest catch was his beautiful high school sweetheart, Dawn. “Gone fishing, but never forgotten; always in our hearts.”
