Thelma Ott

Thelma G. Ott, born in Chacahoula, LA on October 16, 1931, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Ott whom she enjoyed video poker and the slot machines with. She was the mother of Donna O. Parr (Greg Parr) and the greatest “Maw-Maw” anyone could ever ask for to her granddaughter, Candace P. Banfell (Tim Banfell, Jr.) and her great-grandchildren, Brenden Luther-Parr and Hagan Banfell. She was the daughter of the late Irma M. Mayet and the sister of Raymond Giroir (Shirley Giroir) and the late Frank Giroir. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved being a parishioner of St. Agnes Church and was a longtime resident of Jefferson, LA.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
