Terry James Boffone went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 67 on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 5:27 am, surrounded by his friends and family. Terry was born on May 24, 1951. He was the loving husband of Charlene Susan, who he was married to for 45 years. Loving father of Frances (Matthew), Terry (Amanda), and Trevor (Kayla). Grandfather of Charlie Kuehne, Michael Kuehne, Terry Boffone IV, and Samantha Boffone. Terry is preceded in death by his parents Francis Boffone and Doris Boffone, his in-laws Robert Thompson II and Shirley Thompson, his son Terry James Boffone II, and his brother Barry Boffone. He deeply loved his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Terry was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of River Ridge. He was a loyal member of Riverside Baptist Church and First Baptist Church Kenner. He was a proud graduate of Mid City High School and Loyola University New Orleans. Terry was on the Superdome Commission from 1984-87, a member of the Gideons International, and a member of the Riverside Quartet. As a true River Rat, Terry was a national leader in the maritime industry beginning with his time as a captain at GNOTS and Liberty Towing Company before taking over Progressive Barge Line, Inc. and building it into one of the premier bunker companies in the U.S. Gulf Coast. An icon in the local marine towing industry, Terry touched countless lives. Terry enjoyed spending quality time with his family, drag racing, going to the movies, cooking for his family, and spending time with his dog Snoop. He had a very giving heart and loved taking care of his extended family and friends. Please join us for a celebration of his life and love of the Lord. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church Kenner, 1400 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA 70062. The visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time. Burial to follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry’s name to First Baptist Church Kenner. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
