Shirley Louise Kern

Shirley Louise Kern passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the age of 86.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Eugene Kern; parents, William H. Brooks and Alethea Leona Blackmer and daughter, Sheryl Barbier Kern. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Eugene Kern Sr.; Loving grandchildren, Cynthia Bivens, Jonathan Glennon, Brandon Kern, Michael Kern Jr. , William Barbier and Natalie Barbier Yates; Great-Grandchildren: Caitlyn Glennon, Payton Barbier, Khloe Barbier, Elijah Yates, Logan Yates, Christian Yates, Christopher Headley, Christian Headley, Hadley Kern and Zander Kern.
Shirley was a resident of Melville LA. since 2000 and has resided at Pointe Coupee Healthcare in New Roads LA. for the last 4 ½ years. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Pointe Coupee Healthcare and Lifesource Hospice for their care and compassion during Shirley’s illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend the service on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. 70001. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with a service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be immediately after at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
