Shirley Marie Cable Adler passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Metairie, Louisiana. She was 77 years old. She was born August 1, 1940 in Hollsopple, Pennsylvania to the late John J. Cable and the late Ida Rachel Thomas Cable. She was the sister of the late Catherine Cable Podolak and Sara Cable Kimmel. She is survived by her brothers Chet Cable and Ralph Cable and her sister Lenora Cable Gombar. Beloved wife of the late Frank Joseph Adler and loving mother of Vickie Adler Vanderbrook (William), Sherri Adler and Jeffrey Ulmer (Shannon), grandmother to Rachel Vanderbrook, Thomas Vanderbrook, Patrick Vanderbrook, Samuel Adler, Amelia Ulmer and Colleen Ulmer.
Shirley was a graduate of Shanksville High School in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. She was a retired legal secretary and graphic artist. She was and avid reader and her hobbies included genealogy research, gardening, bird watching, fishing and camping, photography, basket weaving, sewing, cooking and attending blue grass concerts.
