Ruth Dufresne Waguespack

Ruth Dufresne Waguespack passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 94.  A native of Wallace, LA, she moved to New Orleans to work before marrying her beloved husband, Don.  She is survived by her four children, Brad Waguespack (Linda), Brent Waguespack ( Robin), Bentley Rauch (Steve), Brook Waguespack ( Regina); grandchildren, Alex Waguespack (Amy), Evan Waguespack (Laura), Bobbie Campbell (Shane), Brandelyn Rauch, Brianna Rauch, Brenner Rauch, Karlee Waguespack, Kyle Waguespack; great grandchildren, Ethan Campbell and Edith Waguespack.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald G. Waguespack (just four months ago); her parents, Benjamin and Louise Dufresne; her brothers and sisters, Russell Dufresne, Bessie Schexnayder, Alvin Dufresne, Percy Dufresne, Mabel Melancon, and Joyce Dufresne.  Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and by all of the lives she touched.  She enjoyed dancing for over 25 years in her exquisitely designed round dancing dresses.  She will be remembered lovingly for the delicious, novelty cakes she created for every occasion, and the beautiful, appliquéd Christmas stockings she stitched for her whole family.  The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her loving and compassionate caregivers and to the professional staff at Passages Hospice. 

Due to the recent surge of COVID-19, the Funeral Mass will be private for the family only.
