Ruby Johnson Mendez Temple

Ruby Johnson Mendez Temple passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the age of 99. She was born December 19, 1918 in Bells, Tennessee to Josh Nunn Johnson and Samantha Reeves Johnson. She was a resident of New Orleans, LA since 1948 and later resided in Destrehan, LA. She had a wonderful life.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Albert Edward Mendez, Jr.; her second husband, Basil “Jack” Temple; 4 sisters: Clara Johnson, Gladys Kronick, Dorothy Slater, and Edna Johnson; her brother, Everton Johnson; and her step grandson, Dustin Mendez. She is survived by her sister, Doris Boyle; 2 children, Michael Mendez (Gina) and Cynthia Smith (Dennis); her stepchildren: Sylveria Mendez Campagna, Albert Mendez III (Martha), and John Mendez; 5 grandchildren: Michelle Mendez, Nicole Mendez, Jessica Waltress (Zack), Natalie Walker (Kevin), and Jaclyn Allen (Brian); 6 step grandchildren: Michelle Wiltz, Stephen Campagna, Mitzie Mendez, Ashley Mendez, Drew Mendez, and Kelly Mendez; and great-grandchildren, Michael Taylor and Mark James Taylor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and also on Monday, July 23, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am with a service starting at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
