Rosalie F. Biggio, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the age of 97. She was married to the love of her life, the late Louis N. Biggio for 54 years until the time of his death in 2000. They had a beautiful and loving marriage and were always together. She was the devoted mother of Sharon B. Ordoyne ( Lenny) and Lynne B. Copeland; the loving “ Maw Maw” of Brian L. Ordoyne ( Ann Marie), Gary L. Copeland, Jr. (Chyna), Jennifer C. Doyle and the late Stacy O. Rollinson (Mike) and the adoring “ Granny” of McKenzie, McKinley, Vincent, Kyle, Izaiah, Paizlee, Lee and Baby Harley.
She was born to the late Albert and Angeline Tusa Fiorenza in New Orleans and was the sister of Audrey F. Bauer and the late Theresa F. Palmisano. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Rosalie graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel in 1941 and grew up in the Irish Channel of New Orleans where she and Louie operated Corner Food Store on Annunciation Street for several years. Louie was working with NOPD while Rosalie ran the store. After they sold it, Louie continued his law enforcement career and retired from NOPD after 22 years while Rosalie worked for the city of New Orleans for over 30 years. They settled on Ringold St. in Lakeview for 55 years and after Katrina, Rosalie resided with her daughter in Metairie.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus, especially Charon, Pauline, Sarah, Jamie, Monica, Craig and J, for the wonderful care they provided to Rosalie during her final days.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be in LakeLawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans.
