Ronald John Charpio, Sr, a longtime resident of Jefferson, LA passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the age of 80.
He attended Mater Dolorosa, De La Salle, and Delgado. Ronald retired after 40 years of service, from the U.S. Army as a Sargeant Major, and later retired from being a locksmith at Tulane University after 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Delores Charpio; three children, Peggy Bradley, Ronald Charpio Jr. (Dana) and Robbie Charpio; one brother, Donald Charpio (Pat); one nephew, Casey; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Liem), Britney (Russell), Joshua (Angela), Jeremy (Isabella), Tiffany (Chris), Ryan, Ashley (Randall); four great-grandchildren, Michael, RJ, Anthony, and Hartley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aldolph Charpio and Pearl Charpio.
He was a long time member of the Krewe of Carrollton, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus, Society of American Magicians, Eddie Adams Jr. Assembly 36, Earl J. Christianbury Ring 27, Glenn Gerardi Ring 217, and Crescent City Guild.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, Louisiana 70001. A funeral mass will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
