Romana Alaniz

Romana Gaitan “Wella” Alaniz passed away Friday morning November 13, 2020. She entered into the arms of our Loving Lord at the age of 101. Daughter of the late Daniel (Father) and Santiaga (Mother) Gaitan. Romana (Wella) was born August 24, 1919 in Monclova, Mexico. With a family of 11 siblings. The late Juana Gaitan, the late Felix Gaitan, the late Francis Gaitan, the late Rosa (Jose) Camargo, survived by Gabriela the late (Rudy) Garcia, Survived by Isabel (Alvino) Garcia, the late Victor (Diana) Gaitan, the late Juan (Christina) Gaitan, Survived by Mary G. (George) Gomez, the late Paul Gaitan and Pete Gaitan.
     At 3 months old her and her family moved to Beeville, Texas, where she lived, married the late Jose Maria Alaniz (Husband), and had a family of 5 of her own. Ramona (the late Joe son-in-law) Galvez, Juan A. (the late Patricia S. daughter-in-law) Alaniz Sr., Eusevio (Nomey) Alaniz Sr., Mary A. (the late SeCundino son-in-law) Garcia., Jose Luis Alaniz. To where she moved again and became a Native of Louisiana. 
     Romana (Wella) has been a long life resident of Kenner from 1963-2020. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and hard worker. She has become a 5 generation Grandmother (Wella) has 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. And many nieces, nephews, family and friends. 
     Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Garden of Memories 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, La 70001 on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm with a Catholic Mass at 2:00pm.   Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 150 people and masks are required to enter the funeral home.
