Rita Eleanor Kulick passed away at the age of 96 on Wednesday, September 30, 2021. She was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie. She spent the early part of her married life in New Jersey where her deceased husband, Julian J. Kulick, Sr. was born. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darryl Kulick; her parents, Frank Foruria, Jr., Cecelia Hebbler Foruria and her sister, Audrey Draughon. She is survived by a son and his wife, Julian J. Kulick, Jr. (Gina); a sister, Inez Lamonte as well as beloved former spouses and significant others: Sheila Ryals, Jane Kulick, Lisa Kulick, Sandra Chapetta, Sonny Ryals, seven grandchildren: Julian Kulick III (Patty), Jude Kulick (Becky), Jarrett Kulick (Melissa), Anthony Kulick, Meri Kulick (Deija Basile), Sarah Kulick (Wade Crane), Nina Kulick and six great-grandchildren, Jodie, Julian, Camryn, Aubry, Nicholas, and Ian as well as many nieces and nephews and cherished New Jersey relatives. For many years, she was loved and cared for by her neighbor, Jodie Fried; her husband, Al and their son,Tyler. She was grateful for her relative, Joyce Boudreaux and her husband Gerard who shared special time with her in her last years. In her early life, she worked for Higgins Shipyard during WWII in service of the country. Her later years were spent in retail sales and customer service at Gaylords and Walmart. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling and visiting with them. In recent years, she spent her time praying the rosary, reading and watching her favorite shows on TV.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a prayer service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Cypress Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.
