Rene Frederick Lopes

Rene Frederick Lopes passed peacefully away on Thursday, February 4, 2021, he was 95 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hypolite Lopes and Viola Ney Lopes, brothers, Alphonse Lopes and Alvin Lopes.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary H. Lopes; sister-in-law, Jackie H. Schultz; niece, Anita Ann Delacroix and nephew, Kenneth W. Schultz.
Rene was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who served in WWII and was a member of IBEW Local 130 for 50 years.

The family would like to thank the St. George Fire Department for all their compassionate help on many occasions and the staff of Feliciana Home Health Care for their loving care.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 150 people and a face cover must be worn.
