Philip Laden Batson, Sr.

Philip Laden Batson, Sr. passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Isaacson Robbins Batson; three children, Philip Batson, Jr. (Mary), Leslie Batson and Jeffrey Batson; his children's mother, Lynne Schneider Batson and four grandchildren, Laden, Macie, Kelcie and Gracie. He is also survived by two brothers, John Batson and Douglas Batson (Alice); a niece, Jade Guidry along with numerous other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Laden  Batson and Barbara Ellen Lasseigne Batson. Philip graduated from Jefferson High in 1953, where he played football and basketball and ran track.  He received his BA in 1969 from LSUNO.  Philip was a former trust officer at National American Bank and Bank of New Orleans. He also served in the US Air Force in the Philippines as a psychological clinic specialist. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Lauren LeBoeuf, RN and the staff of Southeast LA Veterans Home for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM.  Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM. Due to the pandemic, masks and social distancing are mandated.
