Oscar Allen Bowman

Oscar A. Bowman passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 90. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Rita Bradbury Bowman. Loving father to Keith A. Bowman. Grandfather of Kaylah Bowman Bowers (J.C.). Great-Grandfather of Benjamin, Katherine and Madelyn. He is survived by his brother, Sam Bowman, and other loving relatives and friends. Son of the late William A. Bowman Sr. and Irene Lemoine Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: William A. Bowman Jr., Mason Bowman, Mary Hooter, Cecile Dufour, Lena Dufour, Luby Mae Lemoine, Eva Bunch and Jesse Bowman. He was a native of Cottonport, LA and a longtime resident of River Ridge, LA. Upon moving to New Orleans in 1949, he worked 17 years at the Roosevelt Hotel and retired from Avondale Shipyards after 31 years. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends . He also loved hunting, fishing and most outdoor activities.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, November 18, 2022.
