Rodriguez, Nuncia - Passed with peace and grace on Thursday, July 27, with her family by her side at the age of 81. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Orestes Rodriguez, and their four children: Orestes Rodriguez Jr., Louis Rodriguez, Soraya Morera, and Maria Rodriguez; grandchildren: Anjelica Rodriguez, Eva Rodriguez, Bruno Rodriguez, Erik Rodriguez, Stevan Morera, Liza Morera, Giovanni Rodriguez, Roman Gonzalez, and Bailey Murphy; great grandchildren: Mark Barnhouse, Jiovani Rodriguez Jr., Ezra Morera, Anjelina Morera, Dominic Morera, Logan Morera, Carlos Cabrera III, Sloan Vieyra, and Ryder Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her parents Angelica Perez & Alejandro Lopez and her sisters & brother Pastora Santos, Juanita Diaz, Alejandro Lopez Jr.
Nuncia was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to the United States in 1968, with her husband Orestes and then three children, where they made their home in New Orleans, eventually having their fourth child. Over her lifetime Nuncia held many jobs, but none as important as her roles as wife, mother, grandmother and matriarch to her family. Nuncia will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend whose greatest passion was her family. Nuncia leaves us rich in memories and will be missed.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation is from 10 am to 1 pm with a Mass beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
