Michael Allen "Mikee" Shields

Michael Allen Shields passed away suddenly on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the age of 56. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice “Augie” Shields and his brother, Robert Anthony Shields. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Samantha Longo Shields; his son, Michael Anthony Shields (Lisa Fruchtnicht); his grandson, Michael Anthony Shields, Jr.; his father, Edgar “Mickey” Shields; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Michael was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and attended UNO. He had been a truck driver hauling freight for AAA Delivery and the owner of Mikee’s Choppers for many years. Michael never met a stranger and was the first to offer a helping hand. While he had a passion for cars and motorcycles, Michael was never happier than when surrounded by his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Chapel of Eternal Faith located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
