Melody Elizabeth Landry

December 30, 2002 ~ July 22, 2018 (age 15) 15 Years Old

Tribute

Melody Elizabeth Landry, a student of Picayune Memorial High School and former student of Covington High School, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the age of 15. She was predeceased by her biological parents, Kellie Wallace Engeron and Jason Landry.  She will be missed profoundly by her guardian parent, Melissa “Nanny” Schwaner, who has raised her since she was two; twin sister, Donna Landry, sister, Samantha Wallace, brother, Noah Landry, Serenity and Gregory Schwaner who have been like siblings; her grandparents, Beverly and Alvin Lott and Sidney and Stephanie Landry; her aunts and uncles, Veronica and Billy Ray Buitt, Brandy and Dustin Hancock, Brian and Ladett Lott, Preston and Monique Walls, EJ and Kailyn Walls, Timothy and Kristen George, and Ricky Hendrix II along with her first and only love of ten months, Samuel Landry. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends whom she loved dearly. Besides her biological parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Nicole Landry, her grandmother, Donna Wallace and an uncle, Stephen Wallace. Melody participated in the JROTC Program, track, and band, but her greatest passion was barrel racing in rodeos with her retired racehorse, “Amoura”. She was a country girly-girl, and spending time at the barn and getting dirty was what made her happy. She loved her husky NaNuk and would spend time every night training him. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and would talk on the phone for hours with anyone who would talk back to her. She gave her life to the Lord in May of 2012 and actively served in children's ministry at Celebration Church in Slidell.
