It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maureen Elizabeth Coughlin (nee O’Donovan) of Metairie who passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 81. She was a native of Chicago, IL and a resident of Metairie, LA for over fifty years.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony O’Donovan, her late husband, Dr. John William Coughlin, her son, William Joseph Coughlin and two siblings, Daniel O’Donovan (Joanne) and Patricia Schumacher (Dr. Vincent Schumacher).
She will be loving remembered by her sons, Kevin Michael Coughlin (Saiko), Daniel Anthony Coughlin (Stacey) and her favorite daughter, Mary Adeline Coughlin. She has two dear sisters still residing in Illinois, Kathleen Collins, (John), and Colleen Breslin (Michael). She was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Patricia, John, Adeline, Brandon and Cameron Coughlin whom she loved immensely.
She graduated from Sienan High School in Chicago, IL in 1957 and remained close to many in her class up until her death. Maureen worked for James and Betty Noe as an Executive Secretary at KNOE radio station. She was a giver and a friend to all. A devoted parishioner of St. Phillip Neri, Maureen remained close to her faith in God throughout her life, with the understanding that one day she would return home to rest with her loved ones.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services with visitation starting on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
