Mary D Michiels

Mary Earline Michiels, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons and devoted husband on Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was a longtime resident of Metairie and parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church. Mary was a passionate educator and librarian at St. Pius X Catholic School for many years. She served as President and long term member of the Greater New Orleans Catholic Library Association.
Beloved wife for over 50 years of Ambrose Michiels. She is also survived by her children Mark Michiels (Melissa) and Adam Michiels (Marcy); grandchildren Morgan and Zachary; and two brothers John “Buck” Doiron (Claudia) and Bruce Doiron. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Dessie Doiron.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association.
