Mary Catherine Mayeaux

Mrs. Mary Catherine (“Cathy”) Mayeaux, 57, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at St. James Parish Hospital. Cathy was the loving wife of Mr. Bruce A. Mayeaux. Together they shared 37 years of marriage. Cathy was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and was the daughter of Mr. Albert T. and Ms. Shirley G. Kennair. She graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School in Laplace, Louisiana. She was a homemaker, substitute teacher, and an artist.
Cathy was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Laplace, Louisiana and the Cajun French Virtual Table Francaise. She enjoyed art, gardening, and spending time with family. She would like to be remembered as a loving wife, mom, and friend, who was always there to share a cup of coffee over a heart-felt conversation.
She is survived by her husband; her three children: Major Bruce L. Mayeaux, Esq., Ms. Andrea Mayeaux Mathews, and Mr. David. J. Mayeaux; her nine grandchildren: Ms. Selena M. Mayeaux, Ms. Amy O. Mayeaux, Master David J. Mayeaux, Master Hayden L. Mayeaux, Ms. Samantha L. Mayeaux, Ms. Veronica L. Mayeaux, Master Thomas B. Mayeaux, Mr. Christopher E. W. Adams, and Ms. Arloetta M. Yegoroff.
The wake, visitation, and mass will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. The wake will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery at 504-833-3786.
