Mary White Cambre of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 20, 2021 at the age of 73.
Mary was born to Louis G. White and Rosalie Talamo White on June 19, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Cambre. She is survived by her children
Angelle Cambre Skaggs (Nicholas) and Andrew Louis Cambre (Elena), and her step-children Alan Cambre (Leslie) and Jeannine Webb. She was the beloved grandmother of Coraline Rose Cambre and Raphael Danger Cambre, step-grandmother of Tyler Webb and Carson Webb, and dearest sister of Carmela White Pulliam (Don).
Mary never met a stranger–she radiated a warmness that attracted people to her. She was kind, generous to a fault, adventurous, a great hugger, and it brought her great pleasure to cook for her loved ones.
Mary was a steadfast employee for decades with United States Customs and Border Protection and endeared herself as “Momma Mary” to all those she worked with. She loved her family and her grandchildren more than anything. She once said, “Love God and your faith. Love your spouse. Love your children. Love your family. Just love.”
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie, LA 70002 with visitation at 10am and Mass at noon. Masks are required. Online condolences may be offered at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
