Marquis “Mark” deLafayette Doyle Jr., aka “Paw-Paw”, passed away peacefully on January 20th 2018 at the age of 86. He fought hard right to the last second, and left this world in his home with his family by his side, just the way he would have wanted. Born in New Orleans in 1931 to Marquis D. Doyle Sr. and Helen Renner Doyle, he led a full and happy life.
He spent his working life as an operator and superintendent in the civil construction industry, a profession he truly enjoyed. He had a lifelong passion for hot rods, drag racing, and car shows. His retirement was filled with travel all over the world with his wife, Connie. His kind and generous spirit was the foundation of a family he loved and was intensely proud of.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Debra Lynn Doyle, brother Gene Doyle, sister Peggy Doyle Cordes, and sister Betty Doyle Hammond. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Connie Faucheux Doyle, daughter Kay Doyle Arnold, and son Marquis “Mark” D. Doyle III; Six grandchildren: John Marshall Arnold Jr., Lauren Leigh Arnold, Jennifer Doyle Jordan, Adam Marquis Doyle, Rebecca Doyle Walton, and Sarah Rose Doyle; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA and the visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.
