Marguerite May "Heart" Casanovas Landry Berry passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Paul Landry, Jr. and Robert Lee Berry; her daughter, Catherine May Landry Dominick; her parents, Marguerite May Acheson Casanovas Henton and John Owen Casanovas; her stepfather, John Henton; and one great-grandchild, Marguerite Jane Dominick. She is survived by her brothers, Timothy Henton (Diane) and John Henton, Jr. (Gayle); her son-in-law, Mark Dominick; three grandchildren: Chalon Ann Dominick Case (Bradley), Brandon Joseph Dominick, and Trisha Lynn Dominick Casanova (William); and 3 great-grandchildren: Maggie May Dominick, Leighton Dominick Case, and Wesley Jacob Casanova.
Margie was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie. She was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome and served as sacristan and a Eucharistic minister for a number of years. She became licensed as a broker manager in 1979 with Gardner Realtors, and a licensed instructor for Louisiana Real Estate Commission until her retirement in 2012. She also served as a director with the New Orleans Metropolitan Board of Realtors, director with Jefferson Board of Realtors, director with Louisiana Realtor Association, past president of Louisiana Realtor Association, past president of Louisiana Education Foundation, president of with the Women's Council of Realtors of Jefferson Chapter, president with Certified Residential Specialists for the State of Louisiana, and president of Professional Women Council. She also enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong with friends.
A celebration with Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Clement of Rome, 4317 Richland Ave., Metairie, LA 70002. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am with Mass starting at 1:00 pm followed by interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001. Arrangements are under the care of Garden of Memories Funeral Home.
