Maenel Lassalle

Maenel Beck Lassalle passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 92. She went to her Eternal Home during the Novena to Great Saint Joseph in the year of St. Joseph. She is singing with the Choir of Angels and Saints with her beautiful voice. Maenel was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Eugene Lassalle, Jr.; loving mother of Elizabeth Lassalle Francingues (Kenneth), Joseph E. III (Claire), C. David (Sandra), and Mark E. Lassalle (Donna); proud grandmother of Lauren G. Stone, Lee and Kyle Gresham, Laurie L. Jennings, Jennifer L. Hall, Dave and Jerry Lassalle, Brittney L. Felix and Jessica L. Russell; and the proud great-grandmother of 11 great-grandchildren. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph G. Beck and Nellie B. Beck. Maenel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was a devout Catholic who shared and taught her faith with her children and grandchildren.  Maenel loved the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, spending time with her family and sharing her love for cooking and all her recipes, sewing and singing. She was strong in her Catholic faith and taught her family the importance of family bonds. Maenel was born on April 12, 1929 in New Orleans and attended Sacred Heart School and Ursuline College.  She was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen for over 60 years. She was a retired Realtor from Gertrude Gardener Realtors. She loved going to parades and was an avid Cubs and Saints fan.  She will be deeply missed by her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church/Chapel, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.  A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon.
