Mable Marie Howe-Ratliff

Mable Howe-Ratliff , age 71, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Mrs. Howe-Ratliff was a longtime resident of Savannah, TN until she moved with her family the last few years in Independence, LA. Beloved wife of the late Fred Lenoir Ratliff, Jr. for 29 years. Mother of William E. Huffman, Jr. (Pam) and Andrew Huffman (Terry). Stepmother of Lynne Graythen (David) and David F. Ratliff (Kelly). Daughter of the late Albert and Nellie Howe. Sister of Barbara "Faye" Chatelain, James Howe, Betty Howe, Ethel Howe, Ronald Howe, William Howe, and Johnny Howe. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howe-Ratliff was a banker for Whitney Bank and First NBC and was also the former owner of Mr. Rooter Plumbing of the Greater Houston area. Mrs. Howe-Ratliff was a member of First United Methodist Church in Savannah, TN. She loved knitting, crochet, nature and outdoors, traveling with her husband in their RV, and volunteering for many church events. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their care of Mrs. Howe-Ratliff.
Services will be held at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. Metairie, LA 70001 on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon with a service starting at 2:00 pm followed by inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70001. Arrangements are under the care of Garden of Memories Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospice at www.stjude.org.
