Lynel Pinkozie

Lynel Leonard Pinkozie passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020. She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty eight years, Dennis Pinkozie ; her children: Michael Pinkozie, Brian Broussard and Jennifer Fay (Matthew); grandchildren, Jack and James Fay. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ned Maurice Leonard and Shirley Rita Held Leonard. Lynel is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Ruppert (late, Edward Ruppert); nieces, Katy Ruppert (Steve Cantu), Allison Brownlee (Charles Brownlee) and their children, Emma and Colin Brownlee.
Lynel Pinkozie graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus High School and later Charity School of Nursing. Lynel was a sustaining member of the Charity Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, class of 73. After graduating from nursing school Lynel went on to work as nurse at the Napoleon Surgical Center for several years and later transitioned to build a successful career working as a home health nurse for Capital Home Health for many years. She was eventually promoted to the administration team where she served the agency as a Regional Supervisor. Lynel spent the last 14 years of her career happily serving as the Office Manager for D.P.P. Anesthesia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 150 people and masks are mandatory. A memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. with inurnment to follow immediately thereafter in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
