Loraine Gauthier Dupuy

Loraine C. Dupuy( nee Gauthier) was born August 28, 1934 in Plaucheville, Louisiana, to the late Adelma and Edvise Gauthier. She married Ellis Dupuy on September 30, 1951, after which they moved to New Orleans, residing there and in Metairie until his death in 1999. Loraine was a devoted mother to her four children, and eventually entered the restaurant industry as a loyal worker for Short Stop Po Boys on Transcontinental Avenue in Metairie for almost 25 years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis, and eldest child, Brent, as well as by her ten siblings: Tillis Gauthier (Nelda), Felix Gauthier, Florence Guillory (Fred), Irby Gauthier (Hilda), Allie Gremillion (Gibbon), Eury Gauthier (Murdis), Nelson Gauthier (Gertrude), Elaine Parria (Frank), Helen Westmorland (Grady), and Marie DeSoto (Willard).
She is survived by her children Melanie, Lori, and Mark (Alison), four beloved grandchildren, Courtney (Billy), Trey (Krista), Sara, and Steven, and four great grandchildren, Gianna, Russ, Jolie and Forrest.
Loraine had several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001 on Wednesday May 31, 2023. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Mass. Interment will be immediately after. The Mass will be livestreamed on Garden of Memories Metairie Facebook page.
