Kathleen Warren Harris

Kathleen Warren Harris, a longtime New Orleans resident, passed away on September 29, 2021. She had suffered from COPD, but never let that define her and she continued to live a fantastic life. In her last year of life, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Kathy was loved by many, and never knew a stranger; a trait she got from her father with the same knack for getting to know people. Her laughter was contagious and wherever she went, laughter followed. She was preceded in death by her parents N.W. and Catherine Warren, her brother Pat, and her sister Carolyn Morris (Jim). She is survived by her daughter, Kimberlie Harris Francis and two grandchildren, Alex and Sammie who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her niece, Regina Zervigon, her husband Luis, and their children Miles, Clara and Avery and her other niece Christine Pozhitkov, her husband Alexander, and their children Megan, Dashiell, Hallie, Daveigh, Fiona, Helen, and Anton. Kathy worked at Chevron and Tulane and was a loyal and dedicated volunteer for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Louisiana. After retiring, she left her Uptown home and moved to Woldenberg Village on the West Bank. While there she became passionate about painting, acted as an unofficial welcoming committee and social director and made many new friends.  Kathy was one of the strongest women dealing with her illnesses and never let them bring her down. Her life’s philosophy was “it is what it is” and she blessed the lives of anyone that she touched. Interment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie at 1:00 PM November 22, 2021.
