Karen Perkins Hall passed away in her home on Sunday, October 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. Karen was born in Baton Rouge, LA on April 28, 1945. She was the beloved wife of William Marvin Hall for 47 years. For the first time in their marriage, Karen left the party first. She is also survived by her three sons, Lee Perkins, Winston Becker (Brittany) and William Mitchell (Erin); her two granddaughters, Penelope Rachel Hall and Josephine Becker Hall; her brother, Berlin E. Perkins, III (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Berlin E. and Doris B. Perkins, and her sister, Kay. Karen attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of New Orleans. Karen was a master gardener, licensed florist, and obsessive collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia. She cherished her family and played an integral role in the lives of those close to her. Always confident and beautiful, she lead by example and was a veritable model for parenting, grandparenting, unconditional love, humor, and inner strength. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie.
In lieu of flowers, Karen would ask that you donate to your preferred charity or simply play your favorite Elvis song.
