Joyce Yrle

Joyce Masson Yrle, life-long resident of New Orleans, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on June 15, 2022, just shy of her 96th birthday. Joyce shared her unending joy for life with anyone who was blessed to encounter her beautiful smile and spirit. She retired from LP&L in 1991, after which she volunteered her time at Jo Ellen Smith and Meadowcrest Hospitals. She was active at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Algiers and was later a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Harahan. She traveled extensively and loved a good beach trip with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clarence Yrle, and daughter-in-law, Deborah Yrle. She is survived by her children, Robert Charles Yrle (Virginia Hauck), Paula Yrle Doucet (Dane), and Michael Masson Yrle (Sheri); granddaughters, Dayna Lombas Schexnayder (Chad), Shannon Leigh Yrle, Chelsea Lynn Yrle, and Kristi Davidson Hardesty (Jay); great-grandchildren, Taylor Davidson, Owen and Max Schexnayder, Caden and Mason Hardesty. The family would like to sincerely thank St. Francis Villa Assisted Living and Guardian Angels Hospice for their care and support at the end of Joyce’s life. Joyce was a jewel on this earth and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A private service was held. In lieu of flowers, masses or donations to the American Cancer Society are welcomed.
