On December 30, 2020, Joy Aviragnet Zeagler passed away peacefully with her devoted family by her side. She was 84 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavell “Val” Zeagler, her parents, Lillian and Martin Aviragnet and her sister, Gloria Lasseigne. She is survived by her loving son, Kurt Zeagler (wife, Maria), two grandchildren, Roman and Bailey and two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Roman. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Bryan. She was the beloved aunt of Gail LaMarca, Howard Lasseigne, Malora Ducote, Larry Zummo, Tania Willoz, Tamela Charbonnet, Heather Machado, and Brandon Lasseigne. She was a great-aunt to Grace, Eve, and Jordan Charbonnet, Margaret and Lacy Willoz, Scarlett and Annabelle Machado, and Dylan and Kylie Zummo. Joy was a generous spirit who always thought of others before herself. She loved to have big family gatherings and she had a gift for welcoming all into her home. She is dearly loved by so many and touched many lives with her giving heart, caring selflessness, and of course, her amazing cooking. She will remain an inspiration to us all.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
