Joan T Wolverton

Joan T. Wolverton passed away with her family and dear friends by her side, on Saturday, January 26, 2019, following a brief battle with cancer. She was 81 years old.
Joan led an amazing life and leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 15 years, William T. Wolverton, Jr.; her children Robert L. Pecquet (Pam), Joan P. Gurganus (Tony), Paul L. Pecquet (Tiffany), and Raymond L. Pecquet (Irene); grandchildren Lauren Landry (Matthew), Ashley M. Bonura (Randy), Kaylyn Shaw (Dan), Kelcey Pecquet, and Kirsten Pecquet; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Richard D. Tuschick (Carol); two sister-in-laws Barbara Murray and Susie Casanova (Kirk); her niece Beth Simkins (David); as well as the extended Wolverton family, as well as Barbara and George Fay and many dear friends. Joan is preceded in death by her late husband Louis Joseph Pecquet. She also leaves behind her beloved dachshund Liesel Marie.
Joan was vibrant and will be remembered for living life to the fullest. She loved her family and friends and traveled in her later years, where she continued making precious memories. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Rita of Cascia Parish in Harahan, and served as a CYO girl’s coach for many years. She was a member of USTA, the City Park Ladies’ Tennis Club, the organizer and leader of “The Group”, her beloved lifelong friends. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Rita Catholic Church 7100 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, LA 70123 on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held at church prior to mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org/involved/donate.
