Joan Hampton Ducote

Joan Hampton Ducote, age 88, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022. She is survived by her loving daughters Cherie Ducote Firmin (Mark) and Kristen Ducote Levy (Lange), her beloved grandchildren
Benjamin, Elle, and Andrew Levy,  her sister Jackie H. Dubos and brother Noel Hampton, and her many nieces, nephews and friends. The youngest girl of 9 children, born in New Orleans on August 24, 1933, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Mathews Ducote , her parents Thelma and Howard Hampton, her siblings Weston, Calvin, Kenneth, Howard, Shelby, and Hope H. Berthelot. She was a graduate of John McDonough High School, and worked as a buyer and head of purchasing for 40 years with the Orleans Parish School Board. She loved shopping, garage sale-ing, and getting the best bargains possible! She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, playing cards, working with St Angela Ladies Auxiliary, and catching everything she could at Mardi Gras parades. A devoted mother and grandmother, who made each child feel so loved, she never met a stranger, loved fiercely and loyally, and overcame every obstacle set before her.
 Family and Friends are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Angela Merici Church, 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002, Thursday August 4th visitation 11-1, mass at 1, followed by interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. 70001.
