JoAnn S. Landry

JoAnn S. Landry, age 79 died at Ochsner Hospital on Friday, March 19, 2021.  She died in peace with her family at her side. 

JoAnn was the widow of  Willie J. Landry, married for 46 years.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Soileau.  JoAnn attended High School in Opelousas at the Academy of the Immaculate Conception (AIC) and attended University of Southern Louisiana (USL), and was employed by the Clerk of Court office in Opelousas prior to moving and starting a family in Metairie, Louisiana in 1964.

 JoAnn resided in Metairie, where she enjoyed life to the fullest.  She enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her life- long best friend, Pat Poret.   JoAnn enjoyed traveling, listening to live music, her favorite being “Rhythm and Blues” while enjoying a cold beer and good food.  She lived life to spend time with those who were dear to her.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

She was a loving mother to Kelly Landry Clement and husband Scott Clement, and William J. Landry (Billy) and wife Sharon Muller Landry.  She was grandmother to Dane and Cole Clement, Ally and Ava Landry.   She is survived by her siblings, Judy Fontenot, Christine Soileau and Scotty Soileau.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  Please note that due to the current State restrictions visitation is limited to a total of 250 people and a face cover must be worn.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with inurnment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.  To offer condolences or send flowers please visit www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
