Jeffrey “Jeff” Ivan Palacio

Jeffrey “Jeff” Ivan Palacio, beloved husband and father, passed away from cancer on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 53. Jeff was born and raised in the New Orleans area, and he resided in South Carolina for the past 13 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Palacio. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Restel Palacio; his son, Nicholas Jeffrey Palacio and his daughter, Kayla Mae Palacio; his mother, Elvira Palacio; his brother, Orlando Mario Palacio; his sister, Jannelle Charlotte Pennington; his godson and nephew, Alex Palacio; his nephews, Grant Restel, Blake Restel, Collin Restel and Bowie Restel; his nieces, Paige Restel, Olivia Restel and Fiona Restel; and his Siberian Huskey, Dakota.

Jeff was a UNO alumnus. He was a dedicated employee at Extended Stay of America as their Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing and will be dearly missed by his colleagues. He was a proud father and loving family man. Jeff loved hiking along with family and his dog, Dakota. The entire family will forever cherish their memories with Jeff. He was also an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching/attending LSU Tigers and N.O. Saints football games. Even during his last days in hospice, he was supporting his teams by wearing his LSU or Saints jersey on game day. His team spirit was so contagious he even had his nurses rooting for his teams. Jeff also loved spicy and Cajun food. He especially enjoyed crawfish boils when back home.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM followed by mass conducted by Father Paul Clark at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 26, 2018, at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd in Metairie. Burial with graveside service will follow mass at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. in Metairie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
